Same God – Keep Walking with Him

Read: John 6:63-69

From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. John 6:66 KJV

Many of us have prayed for someone, to be healed in some area of their lives.

We have seen the Lord work miracles in the past, believed He could then and that He is still doing it to this day.

In this chapter, we see that there were many who followed Jesus for the miracles He performed (vv. 2, 26).

Their belief in Him differed.

There were some who simply saw Him as the carpenter’s son (Matthew 13:55-58).

There were even some who expected Him to be their political leader (Luke19:37-38)

Some even thought of Him as a great teacher (Matthew 7:28-29).

But there were others who quit following Him because they felt His teachings were hard to understand (John 6:66).

We all have our different expectations of Jesus and many of us feel He doesn’t meet them.

He may not perform things in the manner we desire.

Those are the times we must remember what the Word says:

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19).”

The Savior is good and wise.

There is nothing that He cannot do for us.

He has blessings for us in every area of our lives.

It is up to us to trust and believe.

We don’t want to be like the many disciples that “went back, and walked no more with him” (v.66).

We want to the ones that walk boldly with Him.

Acknowledging that He loves us, forgives us, heals us, stays close to us, and brings us comfort.

We have the power to overcome when we put our trust in Him.

We will see a manifestation of all He can do for us.

Don’t give up.

Don’t turn around.

A change is going to come.

If He did it way back, then He can surely do it now.

He’s the same God right now as He was back then.

He has the “words of eternal life” (v.68).

A WORD OF PRAYER

Savior, when we are tempted to backslide or turn away from Your doctrine, help us to remember that You are the Word of eternal life. The Doctrine that we must live and die by. You have the healing power to bless us in every area of our lives. Thank You for keeping us wrapped in Your loving arms.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
