A Newness of Life

Read: 2 Corinthians 5:14-20

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV

What is useless to one person is valuable to another.

For instance, some things people find in a thrift store are things that someone else felt they did not need any longer.

Someone else comes along and find that it was exactly what they needed.

That it was something, with a little cleaning up, it would complete a hobby they have been working on for years.

They take pleasure in giving new life to something that seemed of no use to someone else.

A chance at a new life is what the Lord desires for each of us.

He has told us that, “if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (v.17).

We act upon new principles and new rules.

Our hearts are set right.

When we receive Him, we are changed in our character and conduct.

With the end of the year approaching and the beginning of a new about to start, let us take the opportunity to make a fresh start.

Let us put the past behind us and see what God is making new in our lives.

We are the workmanship of God, created in Christ to do good works.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we give You praise when we think about how, in You, we are newly created. That because of Your kindness and mercy, we have a chance at a better, more fulfilling, life. A life that ends with the promise of eternal life. Thank You!

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
