A Wake-Up Call

Read: Luke 15:11-24

And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! Luke 15:17 KJV

There are many families who are asking for guidance and prayer for a loved one that they are worried about.

They love them and are hoping that they change their ways.

That they find it in their hearts to do better.

This story of the prodigal son is used to show us a spiritual lesson as told by Jesus in the Gospel.

It describes the experience of a young man who became lost.

He was living a life that was not acceptable.

When he hit his lowest point, he thought of how good his father’s servants were living.

Eventually he found his way back home, hoping his father would accept him as a servant.

His father lovingly welcomed him home with open arms.

Letting him back as his son.

The story has a big message for all of us.

The prodigal son is a picture of God’s love for us as His children.

Showing that God’s love is unconditional.

He loves us while we were still sinners.

Giving us a chance to repent and come to Him.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know the farther away we wander, the farther away You seem to be. Let us remember that it is never too late to turn back. No matter how far we stray, we must be willing to repent. Knowing You are always willing to take us back and forgive us. Thank You for receiving us with open arms.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
