If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. John 8:36 KJV
Today is Veteran’s Day.
In the United States, it is a day when we honor the men and women who have fought to protect the freedoms we enjoy,
There will be parades where Veterans of all branches of the military will march proudly with the American flag waving in front of them.
Bands will be playing the National Anthem.
There will be speeches giving praise to these brave individuals, both men and women, who have defended our liberty.
It is great to know that we are afforded more than just political freedom.
As Christians, we have a wonderful spiritual freedom.
We have it because of the price Jesus paid on the cross.
He died and rose from the grave, so that we could be released from sin’s bondage.
The choice is ours.
Will we live as free and grateful people?
Will we celebrate the liberating power of the grace of God?
Will we show our gratitude to Him?
Will we sing of His love for us?
Always expressing our thanks for giving us victory over sin.
Giving us a reason to tell others of our freedom in Christ.
How this freedom belongs to all of us.
Having no desire to remain silent.
But to keep spreading the good news.
By our faith, we all are set free.
The war is over.
Sin no longer has us bound.
Forever praising God for our spiritual freedom.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Savior, we are thankful to be able to show our gratitude for the Veterans on this day. Grateful that they sacrificed their lives for our freedom. But we know there was an even greater sacrifice. The Spiritual sacrifice You made for our lives. It provided us with the greatest freedom. Freedom from sin. When we receive You and the Word, we are free indeed. Thank You Savior.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
