That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
Deuteronomy 30:20 KJV
A sign is always used to convey information or instruction.
They are used to direct the way we are heading.
It communicates a message that is spoken or written.
Each of us has a desire for a life that is good.
To escape death and all the evil that surrounds it.
We desire happiness not misery.
We all know that the Bible is filled with “signs” that are telling us to obey the Lord.
Telling us how we are to live and wholeheartedly follow Him.
The Word had told us that just before the people entered the Promised Land, The Lord said to them, “See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil” (Deuteronomy 30:15 KJV).
He further instructed them and all of us.
That we are to choose life, so that both we and our defendants may live.
That in doing this, we may love the Lord, obey His voice, and cling to Him because He is our life and the One who lengthens our days (Deuteronomy 30:19-20 KJV).
Every step we take to do His will is one step closer to our truly following Him.
Every step counts.
Going forward we all should take heed of all the signs we encounter in life.
Remembering that even the smallest step of obedience brings us closer to a blessing.
“To obey is better than sacrifice” (1 Samuel 15:22 KJV).
Follow the signs He is setting before us.
He always knows what is best for us.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know that it does matter the path we take on earth if we are not obedient to Your Word. Each day in our hearts we are to desire to do what is pleasing in Your sight. You have placed all the signs before us. It is up to us to truly see them and obey. Thank You for the blessings You bestow on us.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
