This is Great Help, Really Reaching Up to Heaven

Read: Romans 8:18-27

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Romans 8:26 KJV

Children always raise their hands and reach for us when they are eager to get our attention.

They have a desire to be close to us and have us nurture their needs.

They show so much joy when we fulfill them.

The same holds true when we reach out to God in prayer.

He is the One who supplies all our needs (Philippians 4:19 KJV).

We know that when the things of this world try to overtake us, the Holy Spirit is there to support us.

There will be times when we have problems knowing exactly what or for whom to pray.

We can take comfort in the words that Paul spoke.

He said, “the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered” (Romans 8:26 KJV).

The Father cares deeply for all of us, more than we care for ourselves.

That is why the Spirit “maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God” (Romans 8:27 KJV).

We never have to worry about getting our request exactly right.

He always knows the right words to say.

Because He knows our hearts.

The enemy will not prevail against us.

It is great to know that the Spirit is always ready to make intercession with God on our behalf.

That our heartfelt prayers are always heard and answered.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, just like a child reaches out in a time of need, we are reaching out to You. Prayer is the key to building our faith. We know that through prayer, the Holy Spirit will help to lead and guide us in the right direction. There will be times when our hearts will be without words. Thank You for giving us the ability to reach You when we find it hard to say what we feel. For letting the Spirit intercede on our behalf. Thank You.

In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
