And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
1 John 4:16 KJV
There are many who think only of God in terms of His love for us.
They have the feeling that He is much too loving to judge them for not living according to the Word.
With that, they live with little or no regards about how God might respond to their actions.
Totally surprised with they find out they have been living in sin because of their misunderstanding of the Word.
Yes, the Apostle John wrote, “God is love” (1 John 4:18).
However, there is more to know about Him.
Just because He loves us does not mean we are free to live any way we desire.
In Psalms 7:11 we are told, “God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day”.
Our right relationship with the Lord comes when we believe in Him.
When we repent and our sins are forgiven.
That is why He has told us. “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit” (Romans 8:1 KJV)
We are to follow His lead because it is where His love abounds even more in our lives.
Making it possible to show this same love to others.
For all of those who believe, their true love to God assures them of God’s love to us.
The Word tells us, that love teaches us to suffer for him and with him; therefore, we may trust that we shall also be glorified with him (2 Timothy 2:12 KJV),
So, for those who have never turned to Christ, there is plenty to worry about (John 5:24-29 KJV).
None of us are perfect.
But we all need to remember that the Bible tells us about God’s judgement and anger will be felt.
It is not meant to drive us away.
All that He does for us is because He loves us.
He sent His Word to draw us nearer to Him.
An invitation to all who desire to repent their sins and partake of His great love and salvation.
In all that we do, may we never forget, “God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him” 1 John 4:16 KJV.
Our lives are so much better when we do.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know and believe that You have a love for us. That we who believe in You that the same love dwelleth in us. \We are so grateful for the love You show us. Let us remember that just because You do does not mean we are not to live according to the Word. None of us is free from sin. We are so thankful for Your redeeming love. For all the times Your Word sets us free.
