Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:20 KJV
This is just one of many scriptures we can take personally.
There will be times when someone close to us will no longer be by our side.
We may be moving, or it may be them that is making the move.
Either way it is always good to know that the relationship that we have is not over.
We are with each other in spirit and a phone call away.
That is the kind of reassurance Christ gave to His disciples in this text.
He knew the time was coming when He would no longer be present with them physically.
He understood how lonely they would feel when the full burden of spreading the Word would be theirs to complete.
They would no longer have Him around to give them a look of encouragement.
They would no longer hear His comforting voice.
The Savior knows the weaknesses of human nature.
He knew that He needed to give them the reassurance that He would still be with them.
He would be there in the person of His Holy Spirit.
Assisting them in preaching, teaching, living, and witnessing.
When we received Christ as our Savior and vowed to serve Him.
Just like He has reassured the disciples, we can see our position in this promise also.
As we walk on this Christian pathway, always remember that the Lord is always with us.
No matter where He sends us, He is always with us.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Savior, there is not a day nor an hour that You are not present in our lives. You stand by Your Word when You said, “I am with you.” It is reassuring to know that no matter where we are, You are there. Lord, continue to be with us and shine thy face upon us. We are thankful for Your presence as we spread the Word.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
