Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. 1 Corinthians 1:10 KJV
Many of us may remember the old school days.
The days when everyone would stand together and say the “Pledge of Allegiance”.
It says: “I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
The part that stuck out the most was the part that says we are “one Nation under God.”
It’s hard to believe that to be so, when we see how things are in the world.
There is so much division.
That is not what God desires for His people.
He did not create us to be so divided.
We all know that when nonbelievers look at us and don’t see unity, they won’t feel the need to believe or trust in the Lord.
In one of Paul’s messages, he asked the Corinthian believers to overcome their differences.
He said, “Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment” (1 Corinthians 1:10).
As Christians we need to work together.
The Savior has told us that, “He that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.” (1 Corinthians 6:17).
His Word has the final say in all our lives.
It does not matter what our status in life may be.
It does not matter what our nationality may be.
Our unity is the only way we will be able to succeed.
Nonbelievers will not be drawn to Christ if they see us, His followers, not working together.
We should use our precious time to come together and share the Word.
To show unconditional love to one another.
To pray for and with one another.
To represent the Lord no matter where we are.
So, as we reach out in our neighborhoods, schools, or workplace, let us remember that we are one with the Lord.
Desiring to let the whole world know that we are “One Nation Under God”.
We are to be loyal and committed to come together and spread the Word.
Because that is who we are.
The Lord didn’t go through all He went through for us to remain divided.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, help us to see that in You we are one. That there is to be no division among us. How we are to reach out in our neighborhoods, schools, or workplaces with one heart and one mind. Speaking the same thing about the love You have for us all. When we express our loyalty and commitment to You, we become one. One Nation under You Father. Living in peace.
