Valuable Reading: Will Make You Desire to Learn More

Read: 2 Peter 1:16-21

We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts. 2 Peter 1:19 KJV

We all remember how when we were in school, we had to study.

Studying helped us to understand what the teacher was talking about.

We had to read daily.

Had to do research to gain additional knowledge for class presentations.

The teacher’s way of knowing if we were really paying attention.

Even after all our formal education, it doesn’t stop there.

We still should find ourselves desiring to learn more.

There is always a time to gain additional knowledge.

To update ourselves on certain things.

The same holds true with our spiritual education.

Many people feel that because they have had some religious experiences that they don’t need to study the Bible.

It is true our religious experiences may make us aware of God’s existence, but it does not end there.

When we read the Word, we find out so much more.

We find out about His nature, His will, and the salvation He offers us.

All that He has done and will do in our lifetime.

The Bible is our “sure Word of prophecy” (2 Peter 1:19).

It is the best book anyone could have in their possession.

Teaching us everything we need to know and more.

It is our “light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star [that] arise in [our] hearts” 2 Peter 1:19).

The more we read, the more we learn, the better all our lives will be.

That is why we need the Bible.

Take the time read it on a constant basis.

There is so much for us to learn about Him.

About all that He has done, and all that He can do for us.

The Bible is greatest Study Guide anyone could have in their possession.

Read it and keep it as a reference guide.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, it is wonderful to know that we can get to know that You have done great things for us. It is even better to know that we can get to know You even better through our reading the Bible. With wonder and with praise You give us wisdom, power, and grace. Thank You for making Yourself known to us.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
