Believe It, This is Really Better For Us All

Read:   Ecclesiastes  2:17-26

There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God. Ecclesiastes 2:24 KJV

Our status in society means more to some than knowing what the end of their life will bring.

The desire for worldly goods and acknowledgment is considered the cause of our troubles and affliction.

It doesn’t matter if we are living well or have no place to call home, we need to live according to the Word.

That is what Solomon realized.

He realized that knowledge and making good decisions are better than ignorance and folly.

That human wisdom and knowledge will not make man happy (Ecclesiastes 2:12).

That even the most learned of man, who dies and does not know the Lord will perish just like those who are not (Ecclesiastes 2:13).

He understood that “nothing is better for a man than that he should eat and drink, and that his soul should enjoy good in his labor” (Ecclesiastes 2:24 NIV).

We all have a purpose in life.

Everything we have is a gift from God.

It is not to be wasted.

It is to be used to do good and show how blessed we are no matter our status in life.

When we have accepted the Lord in our lives, we are to no longer focus on worldly things.

He gives joy and satisfaction in knowledge and our love for Him.

It comes when our work is done to please God (v.24-26).

Seeking our portion in the love of Christ and the blessings He gives, is the only true way to a true and satisfying enjoyment even in these days and times (Ecclesiastes 2:26).

Things that have greater meaning than what we obtain in our lifetime.

Let us give our all to the Master.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, while we are enjoying the blessings You are giving us, let us remember to share them. To give You all the praise and glory because we know if it had not been for You we would be lost. Lost to a world of sin and losing out on our heavenly blessings. Thank You for letting us see that no matter our position in live, what we need to do to enjoy the good of our labor.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
