O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. Psalms 34:3 KJV
All of us have something that we take a great interest in.
Things that fill us with motivation and excitement.
We take an active interest in something and want to be a supportive follower.
We see it in how we follow our favorite sports, a famous person, music artists or anything that we take a true interest in.
Just like we are a loyal fan to certain things, it should remind us that we need to have an even greater loyalty to the Lord.
Our loyalty to Him is of more importance that anything on this earth.
People and things of this earth are constantly changing. Sometimes the changes being made cause us to no longer take an interest in them. Or can cause us to go the wrong way.
But the Lord never changes. Even more reason for us to sing His praises and let others know that we are one of His followers. His path is the right direction.
David said, “I will bless the LORD at all time: his praise shall continually be in my mouth” (v.1).
It did not matter the time of the year or the situation he faced.
He would talk to the Lord, express what he was feeling and at the end of it all he would give the Lord praise.
David’s prayers helped to silence his fears.
David went through a lot but was still striving to be a faithful, loyal servant.
David went on to say, “My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad” (v.2).
He was not afraid to tell others about the Lord and how He has made a way for him.
There is nothing wrong with enjoying our favorite sports, a famous person, music artists or anything that we take a true interest in.
We all need to take the time to realize how often we praise the things of this world.
We may find that we praise them more than we praise the Lord.
The same happens when we boast about our successes.
We see them more than how it was the Lord who helped us get to where we are.
David has given all of us an invitation to “magnify the LORD with [him]”, and “exalt his name together” (Psalms 34:3).
We should accept his invitation and magnify the Lord.
Exalting Him and giving Him the highest praise.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Savior, David is a great inspiration that reminds us that we can come to You in faith and through prayer. That a praise to You should always be on our lips. That together we all should exalt Your name. Help us to keep our focus on You and not the things of this world. Thank You for all You do for us. We give You the highest praise.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
