Lead Me to the Rock

Read: 1 Kings 13:11-22

From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalms 62:2 KJV

Pain can come in many ways.

It’s an unpleasant feeling that can influence our physical and emotional well-being.

Some of the emotional signs of pain include feelings of depression, sadness, anger, fear, and frustration.

We can go to see a physical doctor to address our physical or emotional pains, but they may not be able to help.

But there is one that no matter our need, He is the best physician to address them.

Any of the pains that we encounter in our lifetime. Both physical and emotional.

The best physician is God.

He is our Spiritual Doctor. Our Solid Rock.

The One that takes care of all our needs.

There is no appointment to made. We can go to Him any time of the day or night.

It doesn’t matter who we are.

He doesn’t care what our status is in life, or where we live.

Even when we feel like the whole world is against us, we can go to God in prayer and tell Him all about our problems.

David was expressing his anger and frustration to God in this passage.

He did it knowing that God would not only listen to his problem, but He would do something about his pain.

He prayed telling the Father, “From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I” (Psalms 62:2).

He knew that God had been his shelter and a strong tower from the enemy (v.3). That He always would be.

He was the ‘rock’ that David always ran to.

We can do the same.

We can walk with God through all our pains.

All we must do is fill our lives with the Word and bring what we are feeling to Him.

Stop worrying and make our atmosphere one of praise and worship.

Knowing that God is turning our situations around and they will end in joy.

Then we can tell others about our Spiritual Doctor. Our Solid Rock.

The One who is available all day and all night to do the same for them.

Our pains and tears may not leave as quickly as we would like, but the grace of God and His undying love for us is our comfort.

There is no greater Word we can stand on.

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away” (Revelations 21:4).

Trust and believe.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know there will be times when we are in pain. We are thankful that we can come to You in prayer and You will wipe the tears from our eyes. We can always find safety in Your arms. You are the solid rock on which we stand, and we give You praise. Thank You for listening to us and the protection You give us.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
