Today’s Reading: Proverbs 3:1-6
Today’s Verse: “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5,6 KJV
Obedience and faith. That is what the Lord desires from all of us.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart. We are to put our trust completely in Him. Having complete confidence in God’s wisdom. We need to stop relying on our limited thinking. Actively depending on Him in every situation.
We must not lean on our own understanding. Depending on our own skills. Thinking we can handle our problems without assistance. We all must take the time to realize that our way of thinking and how we see things are not complete. When we fail to do so, we are not hearing God’s warning not to ignore His principles of right and wrong behavior.
That is why He has told us, to acknowledge Him in all our ways. His desire is for us to consult with Him and bring Him into every decision we make. It does not matter ow big or small it may be. When we do this, we let His character build our character and govern our actions.
Once we truly acknowledge Him, He will make straight our paths. Notice that He said “paths.” He has promised to guide our direction. He is always there to clear the way forward when we submit our plans to His leadership. He does not limit what we desire to accomplish. He just wants to make sure we do it according to His will and to His way.
Begin your day with a short prayer. Turn each of the verses into a personal confession of trust, surrender, and a request for daily guidance. Tell God you want to surrender your need to control outcomes. That you want to truly involve Him in your everyday decisions. Acknowledge Him throughout the day. Thanking Him during your commute, talking to Him while working or doing chores. Look for grace.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Heavenly Father, we trust You with all our heart. We choose not to lean on our own understanding. To stop trying to figure everything out. In all our ways we desire to acknowledge You. We give You are deepest fears. Forgive us for trying to control how things will end. Please help us with our daily choices. Thank You for helping us defeat confusion and fear. Thank You for leading us forward. Continue to give us the peace we need to follow You timing and direction.
