Today’s Reading: 1 Peter 3:17-22
Today’s Verse: “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit.” 1 Peter 3:18 KJV
To suffer means to feel, endure or experience pain. A person can undergo a distressing experience. It can be physically or mentally.
Those are the times we stand on the Word.
Christ suffered once for all sins. His sacrifice was complete. It was sufficient. It did not have to be repeated like in the Old Testament.
Christ was sinless. He died for the righteous, for the unrighteous. All to bring humanity to God. He may have died physically, but He was made alive in the Spirit.
He did it so we could be reconciled with God. To have a meaningful relationship with Him.
As believers, we will have our moments of suffering. The more we walk in faith, we learn to tolerate, allow, and remain strong through it all.
This passage, along with other passages, serve as a cornerstone for everything we will face in life.
The Bible contains many messages that teach us how to suffer patiently for doing good. For doing what is right.
Christ was and is our Prime Example. He is seated at the right-hand side of the Father in Heavenly Authority. He continues to have victory over spiritual forces. He reigns in glory.
As Christians, we must stay encouraged to follow His example.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Heavenly Father, we are thankful that Christ was willing to suffer for our sins. To suffer for the righteous and the unrighteous. Bringing us to You. Help us to continue to walk in the freedom of Your salvation. To honor His sacrifice in our daily lives. We want to live in a way that is holy and pleasing to You. To be made alive in the Spirit just like Christ. Thank You for it all.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
