Today’s Reading: Joshua 1:5-9
Today’s Verse: “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:9 KJV
There will be times when we have feelings of disappointment. Times of discouragement or shock. They often bring sadness. It happens when our courage or expectations are abruptly broken.
Following the death of Moses, God encouraged Joshua to take the position of a leader. He was to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. God would give him His ongoing support and maintain a sense of divine backing.
God promised that no one would be able to stand against him. That just as He was with Moses, he would have His Divine presence. That He would never leave him or forsake him.
This verse is the foundation for the promise of strength and unwavering support. That He would be with Joshua during this change in his life to leadership.
This promise extends to believers today. It is our assurance of God’s faithfulness.
This is a message that brings comfort to those facing risky or intimidating tasks. It is our reassurance that God provides support through His personal and abiding presence.
That He is with us even in the absence of hardship.
It is great to know that we can be strong and courageous without fear.
All we have to do is stay anchored by God’s promise.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, this is a wonderful promise of Your faithfulness. We are thankful to know that You will not allow anyone to stand against us. You will go before us and prepare a way for us. You will remove any obstacles that keep us from receiving Your promises. The purposes for our lives. Just like You guided and provided for Moses and Joshua, You will walk with us wherever You send us for Your purpose. Thank You for never failing or abandoning us. We know we can trust You all the days of our lives. You are so wonderful in all Your ways. Thank You!
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
