His Powerful Glory – This Is Life Beyond Human Achievement

Today’s Reading: Jeremiah 23-26

Today’s Verse: “Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.” Jeremiah 9:23-24 KJV

Success in life is something we all desire to achieve.

There is nothing wrong with that. It is okay to have a reasonable sense of self-respect. We feel proud of what we have achieved.

Problems start when we act like we are better than others. We can begin to treat others as inferiors. We should not show excessive pride and self-confidence.

Jeremiah 9:23-24 KJV is warning us against pride. We should not dwell on temporary human achievements. Human wisdom, strength, and riches do not last. They cannot save us in times of judgment.

We are to acknowledge our relationship with the Lord. He can deliver us from worldly temptations.

True glory and wisdom comes from Him. He is the One that practices steadfast love. He delivers justice. All righteousness comes from Him. He delights in showing us love.

Daily we should ask for guidance in our lives. We need to have a personal relationship with Him.

We want to mirror His loving kindness. Uphold justice. Do the right thing. All true values that gives us the knowledge we need to find security in Him.

Telling everyone that we know about Him. Praying they understand that the Lord is the One that has brought us to our position in life.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Heavenly Father, the more we learn, we can accelerate in many areas of our lives. But trusting in earthly powers and achievements can lose value. Things on earth are constantly changing. In You, we have steadfast love, justice, and righteousness. All true values that will never change. Forgive us for the times we were caught up in our achievements. The times we relied on our own understanding. Deliver us from the temptations of this world. Help us to find our greatest joy and satisfaction in understanding Your Heart and Your ways. Thank You for being a God of lovingkindness. Fair justice and righteousness. We want to have these same traits in our lives.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
