We will face many challenges in our generation and for generations to come. But one change in our lives can help us to handle them all. It is our attitude towards God.
Attention to this is called for, because the more we rebel against the Word it is noticed for generations to come.
Allowing sin to cause us to lose hope and causes us to lose the determination and courage that God desires us to have.
Our forgetfulness regarding God’s Word and Works is the cause of our disobedience to His laws.
The psalmist is telling us about a generation that did not set their hearts on God. They were a people who did not keep the faith and His commandments. All the things they went through because of their disobedience.
He was writing to encourage future generations of the need to change their hearts and minds. To set their hopes in God, remembering all that He had done for them and keep His commandments.
This message holds true to this day.
There are many who have lost the faith and are living in sin. A lifestyle that can be passed from generation to generation.
We are to keep the ways of God and in a caring way teach them to our children.
Not only for their salvation, but so the church may abide forever; until the Lord returns.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, help us to make sure our hearts are set on You. Let us tell our children about Your love and mercy. That You are the one to trust in all things. May our testimonies of Your goodness be an inspiration for this generation and generations to come. Giving You all the honor and praise You deserve.
