As parents we must discipline our children. Legal entities must sentence those who have committed an offense or transgression.
There are many forms of punishment and discipline, depending on the offense or bad behavior.
In both cases, it is a way to try to reform a person, change their lives and how they do things. This does not always happen and the person never changes.
We have all sinned, and have come short of the glory of God.
God saw this in man and was about to inflict a punishment.
Man was committing sins that were deserving of all the grief and sorrows, or punishments that was about to be imposed.
God made His judgment, was about to pronounce His sentence and punishment when Jesus stepped in to take the punishment for us.
Our sins were the thorns in His head, the nails in His hands and feet, the spear in His side.
Because of this sacrifice, suffering and ultimate death, He purchased for us the Spirit and grace of God.
All the more reason for us to thank Him for all that He endured. Striving to sin no more.
Loving Him all the more because He first loved us and gave His life for us.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, Thank You for dying in our place and for taking all our punishment. We were purchased by Your blood, and Your grace. May we continue to see and receive the blessings God has for us. That we adhere to the Word and receive the gift of eternal life. We know that the Word continues to prevail, destroying the works of the enemy. Thank You Savior.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
