Our Lowest Times – Watch How Powerful We Can Be

Read: Job 1:12-22 / Job 2:7-13

But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips. Job 2:10 KJV

Not a day goes by that someone does not feel like the weight of the world is on their shoulders.

They could be facing situations regarding finances, health, work, family, or something else.

It can feel so overwhelming that we wonder how we are going to make it through.

That is where our faith must abound.

Job is one of the greatest examples of someone’s faith being tested.

We all know that the devil is always trying to get us to sin.

He is always trying to find a way to torment us and bring us to ruin.

That is what he was trying to do to Job.

He knew Job was a child of God and faithful in all his ways.

He wanted to test it.

During the test Job lost his children, his wealth, and his health.

But while this was going on Job “arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped” (Job 1:20 KJV).

He knew where his strength would come from.

Even when his wife told him to curse his God and die, he did not (Job 2:9 KJV).

He said to her “ What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil?” (Job 2:10 KJV).

Yes, we know Job complained about his situation, as we all do, but he knew that God had not changed.

That God was still with him through it all.

That He still cared for him.

The same holds true in our lives.

We all know that in our times of difficulties, praise is not always our first response.

The pains felt can be so overwhelming that we speak out in anger and fear.

Those are the times we must be like Job.

Remembering that no matter what we are going through God is with us.

That He is still good and will help us through all our tough times.

His grace always has the upper hand.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, there will always be a time when our faith will be tested. A time when the devil tries to do anything he can to get us to sin. Those are the times we need to be like Job. Staying in a spirit of worship. Giving You praise for the battles won. Thank You Savior for making it possible for us to make it through any test or trial that comes our way.

In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
