Borrowed Blessings

The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. Psalms 24:1 KJV

How often do any of us sit back and think about the fact that whatever is ours, is the Lord’s?

That even the most basic, everyday things in our lives are really His.

He is simply allowing us to use them.

We ourselves are not our own.

Our bodies and our souls belong to Him.

Everything He has blessed us with, even our children, belongs to Him.

Even King David acknowledged the fact that everything he and the people were given to build the temple in Jerusalem, came for the Lord. That none of what they had belonged to them alone. That all of it belonged to God. (1 Chronicles 29:14,16)

The Scriptures even tells us that our ability to produce wealth and earn a living cometh from Him. (Deuteronomy 8:18)

When we begin to understand that all that we have is borrowed, we should be encouraged to not hold on to the things of the world.

But to live with opens hearts and hands, freely sharing with others.

Showing the love and care that He has shown us.

Acknowledging how deeply thankful we are for the kindnesses and love we receive daily.

Our God is a generous God.

Because we have been given so much, let us not forget to give Him our heartfelt thanks for all the blessings, small or large.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, let us remember that everything that is ours is God’s. He has blessed us with things both small and large. That because of His generosity, we have everything we need during our time on earth. We will take care of all that we have been given. Remembering that because we took care and abided by the Word, You have even more for us when we get to Heaven. Thank You Savior.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
