Our Greatest Gift

Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. John 1:45 KJV

It always brings great joy to someone who receives a word of encouragement from someone else.

The words they speak reminds us that the greatest encouragement comes from God.

We may not receive what they are saying at first, but as we go through some things, we find it to be true.

Our lives are changed when we get to know Him.

All who desire to profit by the word of God, must beware of all the different circumstances we can find ourselves in.

Through reading the Word and having others that believe in our lives we can get through them all.

After Jesus had invited Phillip to follow Him, he did just that.

He then told Nathaniel about it.

He told him about how Jesus, the greatest gift man has ever received, was the one that Moses wrote about in the Law.

That even the prophets wrote about Him.

To see for himself that the information they were giving was true.

When Nathaniel continued to show signs of unbelief, Phillip did not hold it against him.

He did not argue, criticize or give up on his friend.

Instead, he invited him to meet Jesus for himself.

We are encouraged to do the same.

Many people are kept from the ways of religion, because their opinions are not based on actual experiences.

They simply have not tried the Lord for themselves.

The best way for any of us to remove false beliefs of religion, is to try the Lord for ourselves.

Nathanael was of a sound character.

He was an upright, godly man.

He just had trouble believing what Phillip was telling him.

We have people in our lives who have the same feelings like Nathaneal.

Christ knows what we are feeling and thinking.

He has a way of showing us that what He says is true.

We can only imagine how pleased Phillip was when he heard his friend declare Jesus as the Son of God and the King of Israel.

Imagine all the joy we will feel when we witness our loved ones and others showing a desire to know Him.

Through Christ we commune with God and receive the benefits He has for us.

The Holy Spirit is the beginning of our intimate relationship with God and lives in all who respond in faith.

Having the Spirit enables us to know God personally and to invite others to do the same.

An invitation to get to know Jesus better is a great gift to receive and to give.

A WORD OF PRAYER
