Powerful, Persistent Prayer – This is Really Bold Access

Today’s Reading: Matthew 7:7-11

Today’s Verse: “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” Matthew 7:7 KJV

This verse is our encouragement to pray.

Prayer is our appointed means for obtaining what we need. We are to pray often. Being serious and earnest in it.

Jesus has always encouraged us to pray.

To ask means we bring all our needs and requests directly to God. We can ask as beggars ask. It is not only physical and emotional needs we pray for. We all must humbly recognize our total spiritual poverty. Our need for God’s grace.

To seek means we take action to find out what God’s plan is for our lives. We make it our business to pursue God’s will. We make it our business to pursue God’s wisdom.

To knock means we persist in prayer. The more we knock shows we have a desire to enter His house. We have a desire to open the doors that sin has shut. We pray and learn to wait patiently for the doors to open.

Always remembering that when we pray according to His promises, it shall be given to us. Especially if God knows it is for us.

Blessings are given to us all. We are all welcomed to the throne of grace.

Our Heavenly Father will never tell us to pray, and then refuse to hear, or give us what would be hurtful. He wants us to come in faith.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Heavenly Father, we come before You, holding onto Your promise that we can boldly ask for what we need. Lord, we present our requests to You. We desire for You to grant us the wisdom, provisions, and guidance we are seeking. That when we face closed doors, You will grant us patience. The power to withstand hardship or stress. To keep knocking at Your door. Help us to continually seek Your face. To align our desires with Your perfect will. We trust in Your never-ending generosity. Thankful that You are a loving Father who always gives what is truly best for Your children. Thank You!

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
