And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. 1 Corinthians 12:21 KJV
I was looking at an older devotional that mentioned an article from Co-op Magazine.
The article really spoke about what teamwork and cooperation can mean.
“It was about the “corny Tate family.”
How each one had their own ideas, wanted things to only go their way.
They failed to see the importance of each of the roles, but in the end knew they needed to work together.
That each one of them played a big part in their success.
There was “Dick Tate,” who wants to run everything.
“Ro Tate,” who tries to change everything.
“Agi Tate,” the one who stirs up trouble whenever possible.
And “Iri Tate,” the one that always lends “Agi Tate” a hand).
Whenever new ideas were suggested, “Hesi Tate and Vegi Tate” were the one to pour cold water on them.
“Imi Tate” was the one who tried to mimic everyone.
There was, “Devas Tate,” the one who loves to be disruptive.
Finally, there was “Poten Tate”, the one that wanted to be a big shot.
But it was “Facili Tate,” “Cogi Tate,” and “Medi Tate” who always saved the day and got everyone pulling together.”
There will always be someone who can put a damper it what is trying to be accomplished.
A one-person show does not get far in accomplishing anything.
Where unity is not found, trouble is always in the midst.
This holds true to the body of Christ fulfilling all that He desires for mankind.
The Scriptures have told us that by God’s design all who are in Christ are one.
That He is the Head, and we are the body of Christ.
That we have been made dependent on one another.
We are not to think we can do all things on our own, because we cannot.
We will never be able to fulfill our high calling as those called by Him until we truly realize that we all have a vital part to play.
It is just like the functioning of our natural body.
“And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you” (1 Corinthians 12:21 KJV).
Every one of us must realize that in this Christian walk, we are dependent on one another.
We are not on this journey by ourselves.
That we should expect to need and receive help from one another.
It really makes our lives better.
Giving us the strength to complete the ultimate goal that the Father designed for each of our lives.
He is the Head.
We are His Children.
We are family and need one another.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we all know that our bodies are made of many parts. That each part plays a vital role in our health and well-being. The same holds true when we think about our relationship with You and others. We should be closely united by the strong bonds formed when we give our lives to You. Each of us has a role in the kingdom. Together we make all things work for the good. Let us always remember that working side by side makes life so much easier and successful.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
