We Have the Ability

Read: Ephesians 2:6-10

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 KJV

Growing up, we were taught to be polite, especially to the elderly.

To use our good manners.

Like holding the door open for someone.

Saying things like, “Thank-you” or “I can help you with that”.

Sharing a smile because it could make the difference in someone’s day.

Any action that causes us to act thoughtfully, with love and with respect is a way of being polite to one another.

We know that it is not always easy to do, especially when someone else is not being polite.

That is when we step out in faith and remember to do things according to the Word.

God has told us, “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:21).

Our faith and the Word give us the encouragement, hope, cheer, and ability to support someone who may need it.

Jesus is the Author and the Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).

We are His workmanship, created to do a good work (Ephesians 2:10).

Sometimes it may seem challenging, but God already knew what we would need to do it.

He has already given each of us the knowledge, skills, and abilities to do a good work every day of our lives (Ephesians 2:10).

He desires that we use them for His glory.

To show others what it looks like to be loved and a vessel used of the Lord.

To be blessed to be a blessing.

Today may be the day that the Father decides to have us be the one to bless someone else.

We will meet someone who needs a word of encouragement.

Someone who may need a helping hand or just a loving smile.

He has chosen and prepared us to be the one to help them.

We are created in His likeness.

Born to do good works.

He has blessed us with the knowledge of His will.

The Holy Spirit has produced a change in us that allows us to glorify God in all we do.

We just must use them.

His workmanship needs to be shown by us every day.

When we are obedient to the Word, our conversations will be good, and we will walk in holiness.

Remembering that the smallest action can direct someone to receive the Lord as their Savior.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know that You have nothing but love for each of us. That You want only the best for us all. You are the fountain from which all the mercies in our lives flow. Your love is a great love, and Your mercy is rich. Let us be obedient to Your command, being courteous to one another and share Your love as You have done with each of us. Hoping they receive You as their own. Spreading the Word. Walking in holiness. Thank You for all You are doing in our lives.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
