Read: Luke 16:1-8
And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.
Luke 16:1 KJV
We all have something that we desire in life.
There are times when we feel like we are searching in vain.
Those are the times we need to sit back for a minute and think about what we are asking for.
Taking them to the Lord in prayer.
Never giving up hope, because we know He will answer us.
The parable in Luke 18 speaks to what it means to seek the Lord.
To go to Him for the things we need in life.
The widow He spoke about was very serious and sincere in her efforts, even with the unjust judge.
So much so that the judge finally answered her efforts.
He said, “Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me” (Luke 18:5 KJV),
She was determined to make her request known unto the Savior.
The Savior made a comparison: If an unjust judge responds to perseverance, how much more readily will our loving Father answer or prayers (Luke 18:6-8 KJV).
If our requests are in keeping with God’s will, keep praying.
Never give up on God.
He has told us, “that men ought always to pray, and not to faint” (Luke 16:1 KJV).
Keep holding on, He will answer our prayers.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know there will be times when we pray and feel like we should get a quick response. Our faith becomes weak and feel like the delay means we are being denied. Those are the times we need to pray on. You have heard every word we have spoken. An answer is sure to come. Our timing is not like Your timing. It may not come when we want it, but it will always come. We can still talk to You, but with patience we must wait.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
