For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Hebrews 4:15 KJV
Things happen in all our lives every day.
Some good and some bad.
Many of us question why the Lord lets us go through the things we do.
He allows it because what we go through gives us the ability to understand how another person may be feeling.
It may not be the exact same thing, but they are similar enough that we know why they feel a certain way.
The fact that we can relate to their situation is a comfort to them.
That is what the Lord did for us when He became a man.
He desired to see and know about how we felt and why we did certain things.
To be a solution to all our problems.
The Word tells us, “For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted” (Hebrews 2:18).
He wanted to really see what was causing us to live and do those things that were sinful and harmful to us all.
But while He was tempted like we are, He did not give in to any of them. He was without sin (Hebrews 4:15).
He knew that it was necessary for Him to be made like us.
Why did He do it?
So “that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people” (Hebrews 2:17).
Because of His experiences, He was able to identify with our temptations.
He had a greater understanding of the heartaches, pains, and difficulties we face.
With this knowledge, He paved the way for our salvation.
When we give our lives to Him, we are filled with determination, despite all the difficulties, to press on and learn how to endure to the end.
Letting nothing keep us under the bondage of sin.
Every situation we find ourselves in should increase our desire to achieve a positive outcome.
Being willing to press on no matter how difficult it is or the amount of time it takes to reach it.
He went through so much just to understand our weaknesses.
To provide the sacrifice needed to help us live a better more prosperous life.
The excellence of our High Priest is enough to encourage us to come boldly to the throne of grace.
We should all desire the mercy that He gives to pardon all our sins and the grace He gives to purify our souls.
All our strength and ability to make it comes from our relationship with the Lord.
No one understands us like He does.
He took on the form of man to see first-hand what we were going through.
With this knowledge, He hung, bled, and died for our sins, so we could have eternal life.
Abundant life. One filled with joy and peace.
He went through it all because of His love for us.
He didn’t have to do it, but He did.
How thankful we all should be to have an understanding High Priest and Savior!
Our lives are nothing without Him.
As we journey through life, let us be there for one another.
Relying on the Scriptures to be our guide.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, there is nothing in this lifetime that we go through, that Jesus has not already encountered. He understands it all. Because of His sacrifice and by His Spirit, we have the power to convince, convert and comfort others in their times of need. We are thankful that You are always a present help in our times of trouble. How You understand all our weaknesses. Thank You for all You have done and continue to do for us. Your help is what we need.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
