Powerful Information – The Greatest Guidelines to Good, Successful Parenting/Leadership

Read: Ephesians 6:1-9

And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4 KJV

With any sport it can be played in two ways.

They can be played with sportsmanship and graciousness or with temper tantrums, screaming at officials, and bitter excuses.

As parents we find ourselves in similar situations when it comes to our children.

We can concentrate on developing grace, self-control, and skills.

Or we can find ourselves frustrated and upset, saying things like, “I know I shouldn’t yell and scream but I can’t help it.” Or “These kids keep bringing out the worst in me.”

None of us are exempt from either of these feelings.

But with any success in a sport the team needs a good coach.

One that has the experience to lead and guide the team.

Parents also need a good coach, one who understands parenthood and what it means to have self-control and unconditional love.

As parents, we need Christ, the Master Teacher.

His help is what we need to be successful.

We know that fathers are to be the head of the household.

That they should rely greatly on what the Lord is saying when it comes to bringing up their children.

But it is beneficial for any parent to understand what the Lord is telling us.

Especially those that do not have a father figure to rely on.

The Lord has told us that, “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing” (John 15:5).

There is no doubt that parenting is not easy.

There will be moments when we feel that our children are not listening.

When we feel like we have done all we can.

But stay prayed up.

The Lord is always there to help us to continue talking to them.

Showing us how to respond to our children with love and grace.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, as parents we know we are responsible for making sure they live happy and prosperous lives. We know there will be times when our patience is challenged. Those are the times we must remember to stand fast in the Word. Praying and allowing You to lead and guide us. Showing grace and love. When we do this, we are teaching our children to what it means to depend on You and the knowledge being set before them. Thank You for helping us to be good parents.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
