Mountains are beautiful.
To look at them, or even attempt to climb one, you can’t help but to wonder about their creation.
They are essential because they play an important role in the water cycle.
They capture moisture from the atmosphere and release it in the form of snow or water.
The necessities of life.
But they can have unexpected rockfalls.
Falls that can cause harm or damage to the areas they surround.
To the point that anyone in that area may need assistance.
Assistance that can sometimes be hard to find.
The same holds true with our lives.
The days can be beautiful, but there will be some days when we feel overwhelmed and struggle to keep it together.
We have major rockslides in our lives.
Help is sometimes hard to find.
Just like mountains are essential to the earth, they are essential in our lives.
They help us to see that the Lord is with us, no matter how hard our mountains may be to climb.
That even though mountains may slowly decay and come to nothing, and rocks be removed, God’s covenant with his people cannot be broken, nor His care of us cease.
He is standing guard over our souls.
Surrounding us just like He did for Jerusalem.
Like the Psalmist said: “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.” (Psalms 121:1-2 KJV)
That is what we need to remember and speak.
God is there for us with steady arms of hope and everlasting love.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, we know there will be days when it seems like we are facing so many rockslides. Thank You for being there during these tough times and surrounding us with Your love.
